Metamorphosis Animation

In our animation we used 3 animation types. In the beginning, when she was waking up, and getting dressed, she was in claymation. One small problem we took with claymation was that we took a little too long to build the characters. Also in clay, Jacklin's mom told her she couldn't wear what she wanted to.  Still in When we turned it to black and white when she was shut down, and told she couldn't were what made her happy. We also made it black and white to show the mood change. When it turned black and white, the music also got sad, which translated the mood of sadness even more. Then we moved to stykz and in stykz we had her walking in side, and walking to her closet, then realizing she could wear whatever now, and swimming through the air and diving into her closet. When she jumped and started to swim, the music continued to get happy and show the mood change. At the end of the animation, it wax bailey in a crazy outfit slithering out of her closet, like a snake. She slithers onto her bed and falls asleep in stop-motion.

We won the best animation in the class! Yes, we got 10 votes, which was 56% of the vote. We got no needs improvement in the actual poll results. In all, we got 18 meets requirements, and 18 Above and Beyonds!

Words of Wisdom

For words of wisdom, the person we interviewed was Phil Villatora, my step dad. He talked about how we need to be sustainable in Hawaii so we don't waste all the natural resources that we have. We shot our interview and our b-roll at my house on the same day. When we got into FCPX, we didn't have enough b-roll. >:(. We planned to shoot all this cool stuff at Karlie's house, it was raining. We ended up getting 2 or 3 more sequences that day.

Five Tips For

For our 5 tips for video, me, Karlie and Brittain chose the topic "5 tips for keeping your room clean", Which is very ironic, because my room is always a mess. In our digital sketchbook, we had to come up with ideas. Everyone had to do this independently. When we came together as a group, Brittain had dealing with dyslexia, and both me and karlie had clean rooms.

Practice Profile Story

The purpose of the practice story was to help us understand how hard it was to film an interview. Our interview was very blurry and that helped us remember to make sure that our real project wasn't out of focus.We chose me as the subject of the practice story because I was the most comfortable on camera.  I had a song stuck in my head and thats how we came up with the subject of me loving music. Profile Project Progress

My team and I chose my step dad, Phil Villatora as our interview subject.  We chose him because we had no other options. Karlie's family lives in Delaware, Erin's is in Michigan and mine is all in New york.  The project we were assigned is elder words of wisdom, and we filmed at my house on the 24th.  The purpose of the project is for the interviewee is tell ing elder words of wisdom to the viewer. He was giving words on why people should be sustainable to care for the land more.

The technical parts of B-Roll is that you have to set up and plan your 3 shot sequences and go from wide to medium to close. also, focusing your shots are key. For the voice over technicalities, you have to talk clearly. You have to sound rehearsed, but not like a robot. You have to talk naturally which can be very hard when you have a camera in front of you. Also, if you don't have enough B-Roll, you have to show a shot of the voice overs, so you have to frame the shot right.

To work with my team better, we can maybe work completely on different things like karlie on B-roll description. Erin fixing the drawings and me editing. Communication can maybe be better. Sometimes I don't know what they are doing. We can also make more compromises.

To improve our video, we can re-organize our B-Roll so it matches what he is saying.  also, we can leave our story exactly how it is. On the Critique, we got mainly perfects for story. We also need to turn down his audio levels, because it is vey loud.

Composition Techniques

One of the most important composition techniques is Rule of Thirds. This is when you place your main subject not directly in the dead center of the shot, but place them slightly off to one side. This makes the shot more interesting and unique. You use rule of thirds to make your shots more interesting, that will leave people wanting more!

Another important composition technique is Framing. Framing is putting your main subject in a frame, by finding something that goes around them- like an arch, or a bush under it. This is important because it makes the photos more captivating, and makes really nice, dramatic shots. More people want to watch when it looks cool!

The next important composition technique is Leading lines. This is having a line that is already in the shot, that leads your eyes to the main subject. This is important to do because it makes the shots more interesting and look amazing.

The last of the main 4 composition techniques is unusual angles. This is when you shoot at an angle that you wouldn't see when you just look at something strait on. This is like looking from the roof of a building other than next to it. This is important because it makes people want to see more!

Three Shot Sequences

Three shot sequences is when there are three shots in an order that makes an action. In the video, The first shot is me walking to the door. Then me opening the door, Then walking in. We made a minor mistake. The order was supposed to be wide, medium, close. But we did wide, close, then medium. Putting 3 shot sequences makes it more interesting, and make sense.

Practice Story Reflection

The assignment we had to interview one person in our team about something they like or do. My group chose to interview me about how I love music. They were asking me questions and I was answering by restating the question. We placed the interview in the library because it was quiet in there. We did my B-Roll around the campus because I was doing a variety of things.

The audio needs to be perfect - Not too loud, not too soft. That was the main thing we had trouble with. Karlie was absent, so it was up to me and Erin to edit it all. We finished editing, or so we thought. When we watched it, the audio was way off, so we had to delete our first export.We had to go back, and adjust the volume on each and every piece of video.

From doing this project I learned that working in film editing is really hard. You think it'll be the easiest thing, but this, to me, was the hardest assignment this your in GT. The key aspect to this project is teamwork and cooperation. I think if our whole team was there, and Karlie was there, we would've done a little bit better. 

Polar Panoramas

These are two examples of my Polar Panoramas. To make your own planet, you start with a 360 degree panorama, with a clear horizon line. you make these by taking 10-15 vertical pictures with 50% sky and 50% ground while turning in a circle. The pictures MUST have a 10-15% overlap, or the project will not come out right. Once you have your pics on your computer you open them in adobe photoshop, and photo merge them, and if you took your pictures correctly, it should work perfectly. Crop it so it is a rectangle. Once you have the pano exactly how you want it, change the size of the image to 5000 x 5000, than rotate it 180 degrees. If you do not rotate it, it will turn into a spherical panorama. Once you are ready to make a polar panorama, click filter > distort > polar coordinates.

If you want to add a person to your polar pano, have someone take a picture of you while standing on a stool or chair, (Be Careful!) and perspective is EVERYTHING!!! If you don't get the shot from above, it won't look real. Open the photo you want in photoshop and use the Quick Selection Tool to select the background, then right click, and inverse the selection. Feather it, and add it to your polar pano. Command C and Command V (copy and paste) your person layer and Turn the exposure down and opacity to about 40% for a shadow. Place it where a shadow would be and there you have you standing on your very own planet!!!

Spherical Panoramas

These are my finished Spherical  panoramas, which I made in photoshop. Final Photomontages

These are my final photomontages, inspired by David Hockney. To start making a photomontage you take 10-15 pictures of one simple object from all different angles. After you upload the photos to your computer, you open all the pictures in adobe photoshop. You will arrange the pictures how they look like they make sense. When you have something that you like, add a white or black boarder to each picture and make the background the opposite color. And there you go! Your very own Joiner.

ALL ABOUT ME!

My name is Paige Marie Wesoloski. I am in the 8th grade and I'm 14 years young. I'm originally from Endicott, New York. While there, I Spent kindergarten thru half of 5th grade at Union Endicott School District. I have 2 dogs, a Boxer and a Basset Hound. I had a cat before we moved to Hawaii, so we had to give her away.

My hobbies include, dancing singing, and watching Netflix. On Netflix, I watch Glee, Toddlers in Tiaras, and Nanny 911. I also enjoy listening to music, The artists I enjoy are Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. I play the tahitian drums, dance tahitian and spin fire poi balls for The Children of The Land, which is a polynesian culture center that my stepdad opened up about 4 years ago.

My mother is Jodi Martin, who is an x-ray technician.  My dad Is Edward Wesoloski, who is the owner of Remlik's in Endicott New York. My step-dad is Phil Villatora, who is a drummer at Luau Kalamaku.
Kelley Holbert is my Step-mom co owns Remlik's with my dad.

Magazine Cover

This is my final Magazine cover. To start you have to come up with a title and sub headings too. Once you get these done you have to take a picture and edit it in adobe bridge. This is a photo editor. When they are outstanding photos.

Upload one of the pics that toy want to use to photoshop. Create a new layer and trace the outlines of the image. When you are done, make another new layer, then Color it by choosing the exact color right off the image.

When you are done Command J the background, Color the background using the hue option, then put a radial or spherical blur. Take your color  from your cover photo and then make the colors for the color scheme as you dod for the background.

Then add in the text and the title. And there you go! Your own magazine cover!
